after first making sure there was no one coming along down our street. It landed with a very satisfying thud/crash,
and then he went down to clean up, remove the pieces from the sidewalk, bag it up and take it over to the dumpster
across the street. Have never looked back as far as owning a TV since then, and like the originator of this tribe, I too
am AMAZED at how people can watch this sludge! It's much worse now than back in 1985, too.

Wed, February 20, 2008 - 3:53 PMThat's crazy but cool. I am not a tv watcher in the respect that I don't watch tv programs but my husband is an avid video gamer so we do have a tv to play Wii and such.
We turned off the cable 3 years ago and I'm really glad we did. I'm mostly surprised and annoyed that people plan their day around the TV. I can't go to dinner with <insert name here> on Thursday because she watches <insert program here>. It's very obnoxious but oh well.
I'm happy. And I can't wait to be 20+ year free of tv programming. :) -

Congratulations on your long post-TV life. Myself, I've been living without TV since 1992 (the year I moved out of my parents' home. I have never personally owned a working television) I am happily married to a person who shares my enthusiasm for a tv-free life. When would we have time? We come home from work, want to exercize our bodies, read books, play music, take walks, play games.....where does tv fit in? Besides, I really am bothered by the asthetics of a TV. They just don't look good in a home environment. WE do have a monitor we pull out of the closet when we want to rent selected movies...but that's an event as opposed to a thoughtless activity...then the thing gets covered and goes back in the closet where it belongs. -
