Hi, I'm new to this tribe. We went without a TV for a few years, but then we bought one so we could watch movies. But now my husband is always watching TV and it's so irritating! I want to DO things and live life and not be exposed to the idiot box, but what can I do? I can't pull him away from it. ...Must....find...ways...to...lure...him...back...to...LIFE!

    you could try scare tactics

threaten the tv with a hammer and see if that works

    with hold noogie

    dont cook for him

well i couldn't withhold nookie, that would be too much torture for me.

and i don't cook for him anyway, as we don't generally eat the same type of foods.

      i'll consider the hammer though...

      :)

here is a plan: When he is watching the tube, do something twice as more interesting than what he is doing. That way his attention could be more focused on something else besides tv.

Oh, yikes. This is sort of my nightmare scenario - you get involved with someone wonderful and live in TV-free bliss for a while, but they get sucked back in to watching, and you can't get them back out. I'd try a couple of things:

    - some sort of deal where the TV can only be on half the time, based on the idea that half that time is yours.

    - get a publication like adbusters. read it together, then watch the TV with an eye to identifying the propaganda.

    - try to replace the TV watching time with something that's more fun... I have no idea why crazed weasels, trampolines, and equally massive quantities of duct tape and chocolate body paint are coming to mind...

If all else fails, I suggest sabotage, or a TV jihad. For the greater good.

    Good luck!

When he's watching TV make that your time to go online and flirt with men. That'll get his attention Lol.

make a new rule, when i wear red you get head, and then when he turns the tube on grab that red shirt, on the other hand that would make me watch more tv for the happy ending hehehe
