For me, it was about 5 years. Now I have husband who loves his Tivo...

It's cool, I don't have to watch it... except for South Park.

    BUT THAT'S ALL, I SWEAR!

No more than a couple weeks. Month at the outside.

TiVo / Replay, got to admit, I feel much more in control with them, skipping commercials, watching just what you want, not "camping" in front of the thing at a predetermined time but when you feel the desire. I'm a junkie. I'll always be a junkie. But I've cut down to a low, functioning dose. I can skip it for days and not miss it, because I know TiVo caught the stuff I might want to watch... if it falls off the hard drive in a couple weeks, well, I guess I didn't really care that much... so it takes the pressure off. I find I watch even less. :-)

"What's the longest you've gone without having a single functioning television in the whole household?"

Do you mean a television signal or the physical device? Does it count if you have a monitor for watching movies but no TV signal coming into your home?

I haven't had a TV signal for over a decade, and the only time I miss it is when I get worried that I should be more aware of what corporate media is feeding to everybody else.

But, I have a monitor, and watch movies regularly - maybe once a week or so. And occasionally I'll rent a particular TV series and watch it.

My tv doesnt have any connection to receive Shows. Thats been that way for a year and half. I have probally even only watched videos or DVD's on it 4-5 times in that time. I watch most DVD's on the computer.

I cant even stand watching TV at someone elses house. I start getting physically nauseas.

I am going on a year without having cable or bunny ears. I do watch movies (although mostly on my computer -- i just joined "Vongo". I used to be one of those people that wouldn't make plans on certain nights so I could sit and watch and then my bf asked me to consider no TV for a few months. Now when I go to friends house and they're watching TV it makes me wonder, why am I here? I usually end up leaving prefering conversation to an electronic box. I'm glad I killed my TV.
