I gave up TV about 2001, had it back for about 6 months in 2002, then gave it up again. I do not think I will ever get it back.
I used to just sit and watch TV, constantly, it was on anytime I was home.
My son would like me to get cable back, but I refuse. I just don't need it. Now, I can't even really sit and watch a movie unless it is a really good movie. I listen to books on tape a lot, I quilt and I can listen to a book and work at the same time, it is so productive.

Re: New here!!
Tue, July 25, 2006 - 1:27 AMRan across y'all and had to join, just to remind myself how completely absent television is from my life and has been since I left the last living situation in which others wanted to have it.
Never missed it for a second. Been free for six years. My significant other hates it as much as I do, so while we have one it's only for watching films.
Wish public television wasn't circling the drain, though.
